World Music: Joyce N'Sana

Presented by Shenkman Arts Centre, MIFO, and Axé Worldfest

Described as the voice of Afrobluehop, Joyce N’Sana combines the sounds of afro-blues with hip-hop to create a catalogue of catchy rhythms. Her soft voice and raspy blows convey her musical message of peace which takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

This incredible artist has won a number of awards in recent years. The Congolo-Québécoise released her first EP in March 2016 and remained number 1 in Canada all summer in the World category of the Earshot ranking. The same year, her EP was named world music album of the year by CJLO radio.

The accolades continue. In 2017, she made an appearance on the show La Voix, in 2018 she won the Montreal final of Landmark Events Showcase, and in 2019 she was a finalist of the Vitrines XP.
