Bailey is ready to leave the broken-down housing co-op run by her father, where everyone knows everyone else’s business and amateur tunes from the music school on the first floor play day and night. But just as she’s ready to leave and pursue her dreams, tragedy strikes and Bailey’s tasked with saving the co-op and everyone in it.

As a shiny new high rise goes up next door and political forces threaten the co-op’s survival, Bailey is pulled between the needs of others and her own ambitions. As she reaches her breaking point, a little bit of magic gives her a look into an alternate reality.

The House Rules features a cast of 55 actors from the Ottawa School of Theatre, ranging in age from 6 to 80. Our All-Ages Plays bring multiple generations together to learn and play as equals as they work towards production.
