Ash Ravens is a professional guitarist, singer-songwriter and recording artist currently residing in Ottawa, Canada. The aspiring musician moved to Canada’s capital in 2021. Though he’s new to the Canadian music scene specifically, he’s been making music for nearly a decade now — all across the world. From his hometown in Bangladesh, where he was born and raised, all the way to iconic venues on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip and of Melbourne, Australia, Ravens has come a long way in the short span of his music career.

Red Heaven is an Ottawa-based music powerhouse of original rock, metal, and world music. Formed in 2011 and with four albums under their belt (“Amplification," “Moth," “Echolocation,” and "Meanwhile"), their sound is often compared to Tool, The Tragically Hip, or Kate Bush. Red Heaven’s Joel Tamas (voice and guitar), Jake Ferrera (drums), Steph Leger (bass), Trevor Lubin (guitar), Allison Bruneau (voice and guitar), and Maddy O'Regan (vioin) create a sound that’s at once both powerful and mystical, meditative and raw, furious and transcendent.

About Encore Ottawa: 

Over the course of the pandemic, Shenkman Arts Centre, Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, and the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition, in addition to RogersTV, and Apartment613, piloted Encore Ottawa 1 and later Encore Ottawa 2 to create paid performance opportunities for over 90 local artists, with all 39 performances later broadcast on RogersTV Channel 22. Encore Ottawa 3 is supported by the Canada Arts Presentation Fund Program and the Support for Workers in Live Arts and Music Sectors Fund.
