ARTicipate Endowment Fund - Supporting Ottawa artists and performers at the Shenkman Arts Centre

With the generous support of donors and the Province of Ontario, the Articipate Endowment Fund was established in 2007 by Arts Network Ottawa in partnership with the City of Ottawa to support artistic programming at Shenkman Arts Centre. Visit the Virtual Donor Wall to see all who have helped to build this Fund.

Each year, the interest earned on the Fund is distributed in the form of Project Grants to local artists and arts organizations to present or exhibit their work in professional spaces at the Centre. Interested artists can read more here or apply for an ARTicipate Project Grant.

The fund also supports programming by the Centre’s Resident Arts Partners: Arts Network OttawaGloucester Pottery SchoolMIFOOttawa School of Art and Ottawa School of Theatre.

Arts Network Ottawa is the steward of the Fund and is responsible for its promotion, administration and sustainability. For an update of the grant recipients, annual distribution and other details about ARTicipate Endowment Fund, please visit the website here.

“With an ARTicipate grant, I had my very first solo exhibition – a milestone that has been decades in the making. I used the funds to prepare and frame paintings and photographs for formal exhibition, and print special postcards to advertise the show,” says Chinh Nguyen, visual and media arts artist and 2016-17 ARTicipate Grant recipient.
