Together, the class will have FUN with the works of William Shakespeare. Child-appropriate chunks of the Bard’s works will lay a foundation for reading or performing his original works. These students will enter Shakespeare’s world, ‘see’ the settings, ‘hear’ the characters speak and feel their emotions, and together with their teacher create an exciting performance piece! Stage Combat Class with Charles Douglas

OYP - Stage Combat
Do you want to learn how to Stage Fight? Ever wonder how actors stay safe in movies or plays? Most storytelling includes physical conflict. From "Romeo and Juliet" to "Star Wars", the ability to stay safe and to deliver what the fight director needs are huge assets for the actor.

This workshop will start with unarmed stage combat and move to swords and sticks. This class will be taught by fight director and actor Charles Douglas, who has taught, choreographed and performed stage fights. at the regional level as well as having taught combat at the post-secondary and secondary level, for the Neptune Theatre School, and elsewhere. Teen Portfolio Development (English)

This course will focus on developing students’ observational skills while focusing on tone, form, proportion, likeness, depth, composition and texture. Special attention will be given to portraiture, life drawing and still life. Students will work from a model in preparation for the Canterbury visual arts interview. Through a variety of painting, drawing, mixed media and sculpture projects, students will refine their skills and develop a substantial body of work. This course will cover all of the requirements for the Canterbury visual arts portfolio. Also available to teens wanting to attend De la Salle or pursuing their own interest in art. Slab Vase for tulips

GPS - Tulip Vase
Come and create your own uniquely modern slab vase! During this 2.5 hour workshop you will learn the essential hand building techniques for this daring shape. You will learn how to make slabs, construct the vase and create the appliqués.
