Students, either confident and advanced or beginners, will be forced to step out of their comfort zones and abandon ego and look at their own drawing and art as if they were a stranger to the process. By the end of the class, students will have been through a vast gamut of activities that they will undoubtedly have a profound confidence in their drawing fundamentals and ability to assess composition with an advanced degree of mark making, history of value, and composition.

Using brushstrokes instead of words, participants will create a painting journal that relies on improvisation and imagination to overcome obstacles and find new solutions that often seem out of reach. Through a series of exercises that emphasize improvisation and risk-taking, participants will learn how to quiet their inner critics and strengthen their creativity. The more we learn to play and accept whatever appears on the page, the more we are able to try new things in life! Some materials are included in the course fee.
