Antarctique Solo - Une aventure de Frédéric Dion

Presented by: MIFO and University of Ottawa

Friday, October 19, 2018 at 8 pm

After surviving countless ordeals, with a tired body and a mind unsettled by the midnight sun, just as his trek across Antarctica is starting to move forward, Frédéric Dion is toppled by a violent gust of wind and loses his sled.

As he tries to locate his survival gear as quickly as possible, he begins to struggle against the wind, the drifting snow and the bitter cold. From experience, Frédéric knows he only has about twenty minutes before his sled will be buried in snow and impossible to find. These are the twenty minutes portrayed during the show. Minute by minute, the audience experiences it all… his doubts, his certainties, his feats, his family life and above all his incredible ability to look death in the eye and not blink. Antarctique solo is the spectacular story of a twenty-first century adventurer who refuses to back down from a challenge, yet who is not afraid to acknowledge his weaknesses.
