Baz'Art - Annual Holiday Arts Market

Presented by: Shenkman Arts Centre

Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11 am to 4 pm and
Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 11 am to 4 pm

Baz’Art is more than an opportunity to shop for a variety of unique, handmade items created by local and regional artists and artisans. While you discover top-notch, jury-selected artists and artisans, and shop for ceramics, jewellery, wearables, paintings, woodwork and other surprises, there are plenty of other things to do and see on this festive weekend. You can tailor your visit as you'd like:
  • The annual Baz’Art bake sale is run by the Shenkman Arts Centre Volunteer Company in the Lower Lobby, with all proceeds going to the Orléans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre.
  • DJ JOG keeps the festive music coming all weekend long.
  • Ottawa School of Theatre (formerly OYP Theatre School) presents The Mrs. and The Elves, a play for audiences of all ages, at 1:30 pm both days. At just $5 for children and $10 for adults, these family shows sell out quickly so contact soon to reserve your seats.
  • Gloucester Pottery School’s annual sale is on so stop by their studios while you’re here.
  • Ottawa School of Art - Orléans Campus will host the 8x8 Fundraiser in their gallery. The reception will take place Friday Nov. 24 from 7 to 9 pm. For more information, click over to their website.
Saturday, November 25:
  • Arteast presents artist demos at Promenade Arteast.
  • The OSA will host art activities for the whole family! From 11 am to 4 pm, create a very unique tree ornament or a colourful greeting card using decorative paper, fabric, original stamps and ribbons with the Ottawa School of Art team! The OSA will be accepting donations for the Ottawa School of Art children’s bursary program.
  • Little ones will love Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s Guess How Much I Love You and I Love My Little Storybook on Saturday right after the market, at 4 pm in Harold Shenkman Hall. Tickets are $20.
Sunday, November 26:
  • Meet the Artists vernissages run from 1 to 3 pm and will feature artists from AOE, Arteast and the Trinity Salons.

Baz'Art artisan market is open from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The Baz’Art Exhibition runs from November 25 to December 14 in the LaLande + Doyle Exhibition Space.
