Café Classico – Classics: Old and New by the Frond Duo, opening performance by Stellae Boreales

Presented by: Shenkman Arts Centre Presents

Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 1 pm

Savour a Sunday afternoon chamber music showcase with the Frond Duo in a cabaret-style setting in the beautiful lower lobby including freshly baked croissants and coffee.

About the Artists

Be transported to worlds of playfulness and contemplation in music for violin and cello. The members of the Frond Duo present a program as varied as their musical tastes: from almost unknown music of Bach Baroque to unfairly neglected new classics by Tomaso Giordani and Ukranian-Russian 20th century composer, Reinhold Glière.

Laura Nerenberg, violin and Daniel Parker, cello have been playing together for several years in various ensembles – most notably, the Triptych Piano Trio. As the Frond Duo, their repertoire spans several centuries of classical music and encompasses the work of great masters such as Bach and Beethoven as well as lesser-known, but no less captivating works by Glière, Giordani, Kodaly and more.

About the Opener

Opening performance by Stellae Boreales violin ensemble, the advanced violin performance group from the Ottawa Suzuki Strings music school.
