Visual Arts

Create A Winter Scene:
Using collage and pastels create your very own winter scene to bring home! Whether you want to represent a polar bear on its iceberg or white rabbits playing in the snow, Ottawa School of Art - Orléans Campus team will guide you in your creative process.

Face Painting
Your face is a "living canvas" when you enjoy a beautiful face painting from LynneART.

Digital Musical Playground:
Walk, run, roll and make music! A digital musical playground combines structures to climb and walk through or even to play hopscotch on. The music is made by you when you move around on it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0SVOp3lubw

Live Performance

La Ridaine is a fun and dynamic performance with a pot-pourri of reels and French-Canadian folklore songs. Their performance also involves the audience in the French-Canadian tradition of playing the spoons and "bonhommes gigueurs" (small, dancing, wooden jigging puppets). Enjoy an hour of traditional French-Canadian music and cultural tradition with La Ridaine!

Les billes (marbles) is a poetic and spirited work inspired from a game created by choreographer Anik Bouvrette in which she asked herself: "When I close my eyes, in my imagination, I see..." "Les billes" is the fruit of this playful exercise. On stage, the dancers work with round objects of all kinds, such as marbles, big balls and even bubble wrap! Their gentle movements paired with these objects create a magical universe accessible to all.

Snow Songs and Storytelling: Join OYP Theatre School’s senior students for storytelling fun, accompanied by soundscapes and sing-alongs with Ottawa-based musician, Kyle Noyes. Celebrate snow in all its musical glory with OYP Theatre School!

Prairie Fire is a Métis and First Nations family dance group based in Ottawa. They have performed the art and fun of Métis cultural dance to audiences around the world. They recently danced at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s swearing in ceremony in 2015.

Outdoors

Snow Painting: Come have fun adding colour to the white world around us. Have fun painting, squirting and splashing colour in the snow!

Enjoy high energy games outside in the snow with the help of Bob Macquarrie Recreational Centre!
