Handel’s Messiah

Presented by: Coro Vivo Ottawa

Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 8:00 pm

Join Coro Vivo Ottawa in the presentation of one of Handel’s best known works: Messiah (HWV 56). Composed in 1741, it took Handel only twenty-four days to complete his masterpiece. Since its 1742 premiere, Messiah has consistently drawn large audiences to its performances, steadily growing in popularity. To this day, Handel’s oratorio remains one of the most recognized and performed choral works of Western music. Coro Vivo, under the skillful direction of Antonio Llaca, will be joined by professional orchestra and soloists in a performance showcasing Handel’s intricate use of counterpoint, typical of the great Baroque master’s work.
