Singer-songwriter Mélissa Ouimet has been belting it out over the rhythms of rock for over a decade. Her musical career has progressed year after year, tour after tour. Mélissa has collaborated with a number of artists over the years and has warmed up the stage for the likes of Robert Charlebois, Véronic Dicaire, Éric Lapointe, Martin Deschamps, Les Porn Flakes and Sylvain Cossette.

A Franco-Ontarian born and bred, Mélissa loves music and she steals the show, one performance after another, whether she is singing in French or in English. One thing is certain: “The French language is dear to me because it was my first means of communication. I think it’s important to stay close to your roots and to remember who you are.”

After winning the people’s choice award at Ontario Pop, Mélissa flew to Asia, where she travelled for an entire year. Needless to say, she has overcome barriers on land and in music and her talent and courage are boundless! Whether she is in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur or Seoul, nothing can stop a visionary like her. Come and see for yourself just how determined she is as an artist, having performed over 300 times in a single year!

“No matter where life takes me, I will always make music […] I will always give 200% on stage or in the studio. You have to give thanks to the people around you.” On April 1st, 2016, on the Nouvelle Scène Gilles-Desjardins, in front of a crowd filled with friends, family, members of the industry and many journalists, Mélissa’s full-bodied and textured voice rang out as she launched her first self-titled album.

In the first week, the pop-rock album was extremely well-received, with sales placing it in the TOP 20. Faithful to the artist’s esthetic, the album was produced by Gautier Marinof (Marc Dupré, Jérôme Couture and Renée Wilkin) and co-produced by Luc Tellier (The New Cities, Blé, Jeffrey Piton) and showcases her love of authentic rock ’n’ roll, delivered with eloquent tenderness.

The album has been performing very well on various Francophone radio stations, where you can hear the first four singles: PERSONNE NE POURRA M’ARRÊTER, SEULE, POUSSIÈRE and À CONTRE JOUR.
